June is here, which means splash pad season is officially upon us! Do you know where your local splash pads are?

If you’re looking for a simple way to get the kids outside, cool off, and make the most of these sunny days, a local splash pad is a must on your summer bucket list! Starting June 1st Splash Pads across the Region of Waterloo have opened, and most will remain operational until Labour Day weekend.

What To Know Before You Go

  1. Prepare for the sun! Not all splash pads have shaded areas so come prepared with sun hats, sun screen and lots of (drinking) water.
  2. Some splash pads do have washroom or changeroom facilities, however not all splash pads are created equal so it’s often best to arrive in your swimwear when possible.
  3. Note that splash pads do not turn off during inclement weather, but it is advised that if there are thunderstorms in the area you should leave the area immediately.
  4. For an extra treat, plan to end the day with an ice cream from a local shop!
